During my studies, I had the opportunity to gain extensive knowledge of art direction and graphic design. Upon completing my bachelor's degree, I felt the need to put my skills into practice in a professional setting.
This desire drove me to seek professional growth; consequently, I took a gap year between my third and fourth years of study to focus on gaining hands-on professional experience.
This gap year allowed me to work across four different sectors: printing, communications agencies, the luxury industry, and digital retouching.
- COMMUNICATIONS AGENCY
Leveraging the technical printing skills I had recently acquired alongside my existing abilities, I was hired by a communications agency. My role involved logo design, web design, UI/UX design, newsletter creation, and the production of original illustrations. These tasks enabled me to develop my creativity and versatility in the field of graphic design.
- LUXURY
Building on my experience in communications agencies, my portfolio enabled me to contribute to prestigious projects for world-renowned brands such as Lancôme and Cacharel. My work involved packaging design, specialized digital retouching for the fashion and beauty sectors, and photography assistance—all of which allowed me to gain valuable experience in these fields.
- DIGITAL RETOUCHING
Finally, my experience in the luxury sector opened the door to photo retouching for an iconic brand like L'Oréal. My role involved perfecting packshot, fashion, and beauty imagery, ensuring they met the brand's high aesthetic standards.
- CONCLUSION
This year has been a formative and enriching experience that allowed me to develop my professional skills in graphic and visual design. After negotiating with my school to retain my student status for personal reasons, I was required—in return—to write an internship report detailing the various tasks I had performed.
As I am not permitted to showcase the work I produced online (due to confidentiality), I am presenting the internship report that outlines the various tasks I performed. I am grateful to my mentors and colleagues for their support and valuable guidance throughout this period.
